Commission your very own

Custom Relic

Commissions are currently: OPEN

Potential project start date: April!

Contact me to discuss your project.

My Process:

  1. Write me a message detailing the piece you have in mind, the dimensions of the space any potential art will live in, and your desired timeline.

  2. I will get back to you to let you know whether I suspect this will be a good match for my skills and current workload. If so, we will schedule a virtual meeting to discuss details further. This is usually a Google Meet or Zoom call

  3. If we both believe this is a good match based on the aforementioned meeting, I send you a proposed cost sheet, along with a proposed contract.

  4. In order to get started, you will need to sign a contract and pay 50% of the total cost upfront. (Nonrefundable once project is underway- this fee will include supplies needed to start the project)

  5. I get to work according to the timeline as agreed! At a minimum, I will contact you with updates for your approval on the project at a few key points: after initial sketch, halfway through, and upon completion. This ensures I am on the right track and reassures both of us that you will be happy with the artwork in the end.

  6. Once the artwork is complete and approved, you will pay the remainder of the commission fee (which will include shipping costs).

  7. I will ship your artwork to you (or arrange personal delivery if you are local to the Las Vegas area).

I like to communicate.

Commissions can be nerve-wracking for both artist and customer. As much as I want to, I will never be able to see directly into your mind and reflect EXACTLY what’s in there. My only option is to interpret your desires, descriptions, and reference materials through my own understanding and style.

Likewise, you may think you want one thing and find that you actually want something slightly different.

This is why I make sure to check in with you at key stages in my creative process. To ensure that I am working in a direction you are happy with.

I am also assuming that you have already reviewed my body of existing work and found yourself attracted to my specific style.

What you are paying for:

-initial consultation

-all materials involved; ie- canvas, paints, mediums, specific brushes and tools for the project

-the time I spend on your project (communicating with you, researching, acquiring supplies, and creating)

-shipping and handling costs (or delivery if you live in my local area)

-my level of experience, which allows me to create a piece of art you will be happy to see in your space

  • Of course you want to know whether this fits in your budget. Frankly, I do, too. ;-)

However, it is impossible to say before having a conversation about size, materials, timeline, and level of detail/difficulty.

I charge more for commissioned pieces than for any other pieces I sell. You would expect to pay more for a custom dress or suit than for one you pulled off the rack, right?

To give you a starting point, I charge somewhere in the neighborhood of $500 for an 8x10" all acrylic painting of moderate difficulty.

  • Here is a basic breakdown of what you are paying for:

    -initial consultation

-all materials involved; ie- canvas, paints, mediums, specific brushes for the project, etc.

-the time I spend on your project

-shipping and handling costs (or delivery if you live in my local area)

-my level of experience which allows me to create a piece of art you will be happy to see in your space

It's a lot of work for me to create a one-of-a-kind luxury item of this nature!

  • I generally retain rights to share photography and video of the end result on my portfolio and on my social media.

Nobody will know I'm an artist if I am never able to share my work product.

Whether or not I share the progress of your piece on social media will be up to you. This will be a subject we discuss together.

Social media is one tool I use to sustain my business and let people know I'm available for creative work, but I respect your privacy.

And I wouldn't want to ruin the reveal for you if that's how you want to play it!

This is something we discuss in detail in the early stages of the project.

  • AI can generate amazing works of art, but it will never be executed by a human hand.

If you ask me, a large part of the charm of original artwork is being able to see (maybe even touch) evidence of each organic, imperfect brush stroke. There is an imperceptible feeling of love and personality worked into the canvas with every single brush stroke.

AI is not capable of producing this type of organic meaning.

Viewing a photograph of an original painting can’t even give you the full, visceral experience of the painting.

  • I wish I could give you a solid answer here, but again... it depends.

It depends on my current workload, availability of any special supplies, and level of detail/difficulty.

My first priority is to allot enough time to create you something worth hanging on your wall, not speed.

    It simply depends!
